Freddy Krueger Actor Robert Englund Shares His Vision For A ‘Nightmare On Elm Street’ Movie
During the Television Critics Association summer press tour last week a panel was held for Eli Roth’s History of Horror, a series coming to AMC this Halloween season which explores all things horror, similar to the recent James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction.
Taking part in the panel was none other than Robert Englund, the horror legend best known for playing Freddy Krueger in the A Nightmare on Elm Street movies. While there he took the opportunity to reveal that over the years he’s come up with his own vision for an Elm Street movie, and the very different Freddy that would terrorize the dreams of his victims in it.

‘To Hell and Back’: Trailer For Documentary About Jason Voorhees Actor Kane Hodder Released
|
|
Every fan of the Friday the 13th slasher series has their favorite Jason Voorhees. For many, myself included, it’s always been Kane Hodder.
A documentary about the man himself is on the way titled To Hell and Back: The Kane Hodder Story. The doc tells Kane’s story, beginning with his difficult earlier years and leading to his landing the iconic role of Jason and other Hollywood roles. It also features interviews with Robert Englund (A Nightmare on Elm Street), who faced off with Voorhees as Freddy Krueger in 2003’s Freddy vs. Jason (though not with Hodder, sadly); Bruce Campbell, who many fans wanted to see join the Freddy and Jason fight in a sequel as Ash from the Evil Dead movies (a battle that did happen in comic book form); Adam Green, who directed Hodder as Victor Crowley in the Hatchet movies after he moved on from the Friday the 13th movies; and more.

‘Behind The Mask: The Rise Of Leslie Vernon’ Sequel Teased For 2017
|
|
A sequel to the excellent 2006 indie horror flick Behind the Mask: The Rise of Leslie Vernon has been in the works for quite a long time now. The movie is a twist on the slasher sub-genre, following an ambitious up-and-coming slasher who is inspired by legends like Jason Voorhees, Michael Myers, and Freddy Krueger, and the film crew he has following him to document what he does.
Unfortunately things simply haven’t worked out in getting it made so far. An attempted Kickstarter campaign back in 2012 only secured a little over $183,000 of the $450,000 goal, which bums me out because I would have totally thrown in whatever I could afford to but never even heard about the crowdfunding campaign until, well…right now.
But now a shiny new year has arrived, and it might just be a good year to make a sequel. The official Facebook page for the sequel, which is currently titled Before the Mask: The Return of Leslie Vernon, has dropped the first post since 2015 teasing another attempt at the movie this year. More below.
