Empress Eve’s Top 10 Favorite Movies Of 2016
  |  @   |

Now that 2016 is behind us, it’s time for me to reveal my favorite Movies of 2016. On a global level, the year 2016 will go down in history as a difficult one, where we lost a lot of talented people and there seemed to be an overall negativity in the air (thanks in part to the general election here in the U.S). On a personal level, 2016 was not only difficult, but sorrowful, as I lost my father to cancer. My dad loved movies, and every time we got together, we would discuss the films we had recently seen. Dad got sick early in the year, so we didn’t get to have our usual movie pow-wows.

My top movies are always of the blockbuster, superhero, scifi/fantasy variety, with some comedies sprinkled in, because I like to rewatch movies, so I tend to pick more uplifting titles as “favorites” — therefore, I’m not saying my list is of the “best” movies, they are just the ones I enjoyed the most and will likely rewatch to my heart’s content.

Movie Review: Sausage Party
  |  @   |

Sausage Party
Directed by Greg Tiernan & Conrad Vernon
Written by Kyle Hunter, Ariel Shaffir, Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg
Starring Seth Rogen, Kristen Wiig, Michael Cera, James Franco, Danny McBride, David Krumholtz, Edward Norton, Salma Hayek, Nick Kroll
Distributor: Columbia Pictures
Rated R | 89 Minutes
Release Date: August 12, 2016

Sausage Party is advertised as a raunchy rated-R animated comedy. If that is what draws you to the theater, you will not be disappointed. Sausage Party contains some of crudest and most vulgar humor since… well, ever. Deadpool, which came out earlier this year, prided itself on being a rated-R superhero movie, and while there was sex, graphic violence, and language that would get you kicked out of church, it pales in comparison to the literal non-stop 90-minutes of lunacy that is Sausage Party.

Spoilers and more below.

  |  @   |

The R-rated animated movie Sausage Party, which follows food discovering the horrifying truth about what happens when they get purchased by someone, is out in theaters today. To help promote the movie to those who aren’t already sold and planning to see it, star Seth Rogen took part in a prank at a grocery store.

The prank involves a few strategically placed animatronic food items which come to life when shoppers are near, and Rogen speaking as the food from a back room to teach said shoppers about how evil it is to eat melons and other food items.

You can see how the shoppers reacted to the surprise of food talking to them at the grocery store in the video below.

SDCC 2016: CW Superheroes Stephen Amell, Melissa Benoist & Grant Gustin On ‘Conan’
  |  @   |

As he has done in the past Conan O’Brien temporarily moved his show Conan down to San Diego for the famed San Diego Comic Con going on right now. Last year, Conan had shows dedicated to many of the superhero films of 2016, including Batman v Superman, X-Men: Apocalypse, and so on.

On Thursday night’s show from SDCC, before bringing his guests out, Conan visited Ironhead Studios, responsible for making the costumes of some of the most famous modern superheroes, including those in Batman v Superman. Conan gets to try on a Hawkman helmet, and fantasize about Wonder Woman Gal Gadot while standing with her headless body replica. He gets creative, placing casts of Ian McKellen and Matt Damon’s heads on the Wonder Woman statue. Conan then volunteers to have his own superhero suit made, meaning the self deprecating comedian had to first pose and be subjected to a full body scan. He then debuts the new Conan supersuit, a buffed out blue bodysuit featuring a C-belt and bright orange hair helmet”¦ it’s fantastic.
