The Ghoul Log returns to Shudder this Halloween season.🎃
It’s finally October, the month where the rest of the “normal folk” catch up to the idea that horror movies are awesome! With that in mind, AMC’s horror streaming service Shudder has released its October schedule of genre movies and series. Shudder is a must-get for any horror fan, or anyone who wants to be a horror fan for a month. Aside from new releases, and Shudder Exclusive content, the streaming service has the largest and best collection of horror anywhere on the interwebs.
A few years ago scrolling through the horror selections on Prime Video I found the movie Hell House LLC and it seemed intriguing enough to throw in my watchlist. There it stayed until my friend Chris (FutureBoyReviews on Facebook) told me to give it a watch. I’m an unabashed fan of found-footage horror and this was right up my alley. The movie was great, filled with genuine scares, and some of the creepiest clowns you’ll ever see. Last year, writer/director Stephen Cognetti returned with Hell House LLC II: The Abaddon Hotel, a worthy sequel that explored the backstory of the haunted attraction. On September 19, 2019, Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire debuted on AMC’s horror streaming service, Shudder, to much fanfare. (You can check out my full review of the film here.) On the day of the third film’s premiere, I got the chance to speak with Stephen Cognetti about the Hell House LLC trilogy, found-footage, his inspirations, and more. Read the interview here below.
It’s a great time to be a Shudder subscriber. AMC’s horror and genre streaming service is hitting high gear as we inch closer towards October and Halloween season. Just last week, two Shudder Exclusives — The Cleansing Hour and Blood Machines — are screening at Fantastic Fest, while Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire premiered on the service a few days ago. Well prepared to get spoiled because this week may be even bigger for Shudder. The eagerly anticipated Creepshow series from The Walking Dead executive producer Greg Nicotero debuts on 9/26. But if you can’t wait till Thursday, how about Tuesday? One of the most successful independent films of all time as well as an awesome and hilarious zombie comedy, One Cut of the Dead, will hit Shudder on Tuesday, 9/24.
Shudder has released a new trailer for Creepshow, their upcoming anthology series based on Stephen King and George A. Romero‘s 1982 movie of the same name.
In addition to the new trailer, a behind the scenes video was also released last week. You can find both below, along with more info on the series and details on all 12 of the segments—two segments per episode—that we’ll see in the debut season.
Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire Written & Directed by Stephen Cognetti
Cast: Gabriel Chytry, Elizabeth Vermilyea, Sam Kazzi, Brian David Tracy, Bridgid Abrams
Shudder Exclusive
Release date: September 19, 2019
In recent years, few word pairings have excited genre fans more than “Shudder Exclusive.” AMC’s streaming service Shudder has become a force in bringing new horror films and series to the small screen and this Thursday, they’ll be premiering the ending of Stephen Cognetti’s Hell House LLC trilogy with Hell House LLC III: Lake of Fire. Quite simply, if you enjoyed the found footage/haunted attraction scares of the first two movies, you’ll be all in for the finale.
