It did not take too long for the Uncharted film adaptation to get someone to take over the helm. A new report confirms that 10 Cloverfield Lane director Dan Trachtenberg has been brought in to direct the planned big-screen adaptation. More on the report here below.

A movie based on Naughty Dog’s hit Uncharted video game series has been stuck in a special level of development Hell for quite a while now. To give you an idea, Sony put the project on the fast track…back in 2009.
For a long time fans of the games were begging Sony to cast Firefly and Castle star Nathan Fillion in the lead role of Nathan Drake. Because Fillion is without question the best possible actor to play Drake, and fans knew it. Hell, even Fillion himself wanted to play Drake. Unfortunately Sony didn’t agree, and numerous other actors have been attached to the role over the years.
But none of that matters now. Since Sony didn’t give the fans what they wanted, the fans themselves have done it instead. It’s just a short fan film sadly, but it is a live-action Uncharted movie starring Fillion as Drake. You can check it out below, if it hasn’t been pulled for some reason.
Sony has finally found someone to play Nathan Drake in their long-in-development movie based on the Uncharted video game series, and it is not someone you were expecting.
It would appear that the studio is quite high on the star of their latest reboot of the Spider-Man franchise, Tom Holland, as the actor has become the latest actor attached to play Drake. Why they chose such a young actor for the role makes a little more sense when you see the reason, though I’m not very confident that it will make fans of the games feel better about the casting or the direction the movie is now moving in.
