Honest Trailer For ‘Captain America: The Winter Soldier’ (Video)
  |  @   |

Bored? Nothing on TV? Are you a sarcastic movie fan who loves picking apart even your favorite movies for their idiosyncrasies? The Screen Junkies YouTube page has some of the best stuff going on right now on the internet with their series of Honest Trailers. While they can be viewed as being overly critical, the Honest Trailers are mostly filled with hilarious narration by Jon Bailey (the first narrator was Gannon Nickell). Whether it’s plot holes, continuity errors, or hammed up overacting, the guys at HT will bring it to you “in their awesome voices.”

And what better way to get acclimated to Honest Trailers than a double shot of Marvel superhero goodness: Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America: The Winter Soldier.

Watch both “honest trailers” here below!

The one for the first Cap film gleefully points out the fact that it’s really nothing more than a 2-hour trailer for The Avengers. Of course you can’t let it slip that Chris Evans played Human Torch in FOX’s terrible Fantastic Four movies before switching over to Captain A. All it took was some super steroids!

While Captain America: The First Avenger was a decent set up for The Avengers, I think most would agree that Cap 2 was certainly a better film in nearly every way. Justifiably, Honest Trailers acknowledges this and thus gives us a hilarious video complete with extra “NITPICKING” about details one would rarely pick up on, like Cap’s vaguely defined superpowers (super throwing and super catching) and Hydra’s plan being basically completely devoid of possibilities based on previous films in the canon. The best parts of all the HT’s are the credits, as the narrator gives every major actor a ridiculous funny gimmick name such as Sebastian Stan‘s Winter Soldier being called Unfrozen Caveman Soldier.

Another great part of the Honest Trailers is that they are short, funny, and addicting. They don’t discriminate, and go after all movies equally from classics like Lion King to crap-tastic misses like Tim Burton‘s Planet of the Apes. After cruising through the Marvel selections, try Robocop and Pacific Rim, my personal favorites in the series. When you’ve wasted an entire weekend afternoon glued to your recliner, you’ll thank me.
