The world of the fashion industry is a bit beyond my comprehension, but I guess that is why we have satires like Zoolander. A decade ago, Ben Stiller starred as the dimwitted title character who was able to stop a ninja throwing star with his signature look, Blue Steel. Along with his equally beautiful (not to mention equally dimwittted) rival Hansel (Owen Wilson), they were able to stop Jacobim Mugatu’s (Will Ferrell) nefarious plan, which involved brainwashing and assassinations.
Now, many years after the film’s first release, fans have been asking for a sequel, and we are getting just that. Paramount has released the first trailer for Zoolander 2. Now they are back, and they’re older and lamer, but still somewhat funny. This time, the sequel stars Penelope Cruz as an interpol agent, Kristen Wiig as a fashion designer, Justin Bieber, Usher, and other celebrities appearing as themselves, and much more. Let’s not spoil which Sherlock character makes an appearance, instead, check out the first trailer for Zoolander 2 here below.
Back in early August we saw the first teaser trailer for Zoolander 2, the follow-up to the 2001 Ben Stiller fashion model comedy.
A pair of new posters have now been released for the sequel, featuring Stiller in a cologne ad and Stiller and Owen Wilson showing off the phones they’ve upgraded to from the tiny flip phones they were using 14 years ago.

Paramount Pictures released the trailer to Zoolander 2 today, in response to the online leak yesterday. About a minute and a half, the trailer ponders the mysteries of the universe as narrated by someone who sounds suspiciously like Stephen Hawking, going from the Big Bang to the evolution of the human brain, which looks like it includes hair dryers and mermen (from the first film).
Actress and comedienne Anne Meara, wife of Jerry Stiller (who she had been in a comedy team with for decades) and mother to Ben and Amy Stiller, has died. She was 85.
The news was broken by Ben and Jerry Stiller, who gave no information on Meara’s cause of death at this time.
Meara had a career which transcended audiences and sometimes even genres. She appeared in films as diverse as the original Out of Towners in 1970 (sharing a short scene with the stars of that film, Jack Lemmon and Sandy Dennis); the highly underrated Lovers and Other Strangers released the same year; The Boys from Brazil with Lawrence Olivier in 1978; Fame in 1980, and also had appeared in many of her son Ben’s films, like Reality Bites, Zoolander, and Night at the Museum.
Who better to make a grand appearance at Valentino’s show in Paris for Paris Fashion Week than Derek Zoolander and Hansel walking down the runway to announce the start of filming and the release date for Zoolander 2, the sequel to the 2001 comedy Zoolander.
The massive fashion event had Ben Stiller and Owen Wilson reprise their respective male model characters for a long-awaited reunion. Pretty smart marketing from Paramount Pictures to get the two actors involved in Fashion Week in Paris. Hit the jump to check out some of the photos.
