It wasn’t quite clear where Henry Cavill‘s stood on playing Superman again after it was widely rumored that he walked away from a cameo appearance in Shazam! and that he would no longer be playing the character. Though many had assumed the actor would no longer play the Man of Steel, nothing was actually confirmed. There had been reports that Warner Bros. was exploring rebooting the DC Extended Universe by turning their attention to Supergirl. But Cavill also posted an Instagram video of himself wearing a Kryptonian lift team shirt while slowly raising a Superman toy up to the frame, all with that Superman theme playing in the background. As confusing as it was, things remained relatively quiet. Until now.
In a new interview, Cavill says that the Man of Steel’s cape is “still in his closet,” and that he has a lot to give to the role, and that there is a lot of justice that needs to be done still. More on the report below.
Matt Reeves‘ The Batman has been making some big-name casting news in recent weeks with actors like Zoe Kravitz, Paul Dano, and Jeffrey Wright all joining Robert Pattinson, who will be playing the titular character. Then, just last week, Colin Farrell and Andy Serkis were reported to be in talks to join the upcoming film as well.
Now another actor has been cast. However, you may not have heard of her, and there is a reason for that. New reports confirm that Jayme Lawson has joined the film. More on the report below.
News on director Patty Jenkins‘ Wonder Woman 1984, one again starring Gal Gadot in the title role, has been low ever since it ended production and had a tiny preview at CinemaCon. Though very little is known about the upcoming sequel, we know that it will take audiences back to a different time period and see Wonder Woman go up against Cheetah (Kristen Wiig) at the height of the Cold War. There are other characters to consider, as well. Chris Pine returns as Steve Trevor, and Connie Nielsen reprises her role as Hippolyta. And now we are learning about the character Pedro Pascal is playing.
It has been confirmed that Pascal will be playing Maxwell Lord, a villainous businessman with telepathic persuasion powers. More on the report below.
Though the possibility of Jonah Hill as either The Riddler or Penguin faded when he was unable to reach an agreement for the project, another actor has stepped in to fill one of the villain roles in The Batman.
New reports say Paul Dano (There Will Be Blood, Little Miss Sunshine) will now play The Riddler. More on the report below.
