Disney Interested In Rebooting ‘Tron’ With Jared Leto As The Lead
There has been an interesting number of developments surrounding Tron lately. Most recently, Tron: Legacy director Joseph Kosinski revealed that had Disney followed up with Tron 3, the film would have been an invasion movie from inside the machine coming out, with the first act taking place in the real world, followed by the second act which would have been set in Tron (or multiple worlds), before ending it all in the real world.
While the film has been on hold, it looks like the studio may be interested in reviving the franchise once more, and this time with a new lead. According to new reports, Suicide Squad star Jared Leto is being eyed for the lead role. More on the story below.

Garrett Hedlund Sugggests ‘Tron 3’ May Not Be Dead After All
Tron 3 (rumored to be titled Tron: Ascension) was so close to production that stars Garrett Hedlund and Olivia Wilde were expected to report on set in Vancouver in the Fall. Disney didn’t even mention at the D23 Expo earlier this year if they were still considering releasing Tron 3, but for those who are still holding out on hope of it getting made, Hedlund has an optimistic outlook. According to what was told to him, the project isn’t dead, but rather Disney is still trying to find the right story. More on this below.
