Sometimes a movie comes out that is just ripe for mockery. And sometimes that movie is so bad it becomes a legendary cult classic. Enter Jupiter Ascending, a sci-fi action movie from Matrix filmmakers the Wachowskis starring Mila Kunis, Channing Tatum, and recent Oscar winner Eddie Redmayne. What can possibly go wrong? Umm… welcome to Honest Trailers: Jupiter Ascending.

Jupiter Ascending, a wild, swinging juggernaut of a science-fiction film, created by the eclectic Wachowskis, Lana Wachowski and Andy Wachowski, made a strong debut at Comic Con’s Hall H today. Moderated by Chris Hardwick and starring Channing Tatum, who Hardwick had jokingly asked to take of his shirt and do a Magic Mike “cosplay,” asked Tatum questions about the film, in which he said was going to be a crazy, incredible ride indeed.
Andy and Lana Wachowski‘s latest big-budget sci-fi adventure Jupiter Ascending initially looked to be one of this summer movie season’s oddest entries, but no more. For reasons that have yet to be made clear Warner Bros., which co-financed the $150 million tentpole blockbuster wannabe with Village Roadshow, has moved the film out of its original July 18, 2014 release date and rescheduled it for next February.
I can’t say that I’m surprised by this move. With no major stars and a storyline not based on any existing fictional properties Jupiter faced potential stiff competition on opening weekend from the likes of Planes: Fire and Rescue, The Purge: Anarchy, and Sex Tape, not to mention only getting two weeks to make its mark on audiences before Guardians of the Galaxy debuted.
