This week we learned that Game of Thrones showrunners David Benioff and D.B. Weisshad exited their plannedStar Wars trilogy. Now that Game of Thrones has come and gone, we knew it was only a matter of time before HBO announced a home video release including all of the seasons packaged together.
Now that day has come, with the unveiling of Game of Thrones: The Complete Collection. The collection features all eight seasons of the show—73 episodes total on 33 discs—as well as over 15 hours of bonus features to enjoy, all presented in a wooden box with art by Robert Ball, who’s responsible for the excellent “Beautiful Death” series.

Now author George R.R. Martin, who wrote the “A Song of Ice and Fire” book series the show was based on, has shared his thoughts on the show ending. He also touched on whether or not the long-awaited next book in the series, The Winds of Winter, and the book after that, A Dream of Spring, would ultimately lead to the same ending as HBO’s adaptation.
