  |

As the seasons start getting closer and the prospect of gift giving starts to clear off the cobwebs and come front and center to everyone’s consciousness yet again, there’s always the enigma of what to get, and more importantly, will the recipient be satisfied? There are however universals that always crack the corners of the mouth for a smile, music releases and their sometimes re-released box sets being some of them. So that being said, and what remains our annual wont, here’s our picks for some great music recently released and upcoming. And as always, this one goes to eleven.

Redditor Bandia5309’s 84-year-old grandfather created a Death Star II fire pit over the Christmas holiday and it’s amazing!

Death Star In ‘Star Wars: Episode VII’ Being Teased By J.J. Abrams? (Image)
  |  @   |

Director J.J. Abrams has made it a hobby to leave little nods and hints in images and videos he’s posted on the Bad Robot Twitter feed, that may or may not indicate things we might see in Star Wars: Episode VII.

In one of the latest images posted—a simple handwritten note making a joke about the new watch Apple just announced recently—Star Wars fans will recognize a very familiar pattern in the background.

‘Star Wars’: An Open Letter From A Death Star Architect About That Vulnerable Exhaust Port
  |  @   |

If you’re a fan of Star Wars, then you’re likely familiar with the Death Star, the space station and planet destroyer constructed by the Empire. In 1977’s Star Wars: A New Hope, the Rebel Alliance obtains the technical readout for the station and discovers a flaw in its design that they could exploit — all it would take is for one of their X-Wing fighters to make a precise hit with proton torpedoes into the Death Star’s two-meters-wide thermal exhaust port. Thankfully, the Alliance had a new hot shot pilot named Luke Skywalker who used to bullseye womp rats in his T-16 on his home world of Tatoonine, and as we all know, womp rats aren’t much bigger than two meters, so piece of cake!

Of course, Luke hits the targets and blows up the massive Death Star. But for years now, people have wondered how such a design flaw could have made it into this technologically advanced super-powered weapon of mass destruction. Now, one of the Death Star’s architects — namely who was the person responsible for the exhaust ports on the space station — is speaking out and he wants everyone to know, it wasn’t his fault!

Check out Death Star architect Dak Exhaustport‘s open letter here below.

  |  @   |

Etsy user Pyroteeze has constructed a Star Wars Death Star Herb Grinder.

This tiny handmade technological herb terrorizer can grind up stuff like sage and lavender, as well as many plants and spices. The 2.5-inch device, which is a bit smaller than a baseball, is made from non-toxic polymer clay and is antiqued with a light black acrylic paint.
