This year marks the 35th anniversary of the theatrical release of Ghostbusters, the 1984 blockbuster comedy starring Bill Murray, Dan Aykroyd, Harold Ramis, and Ernie Hudson as the title paranormal investigators. Now, Fathom Events and Sony Pictures are bringing the film back to theaters nationwide for 2 days only this October.
Theaters nationwide will be showing the film on Sunday, October 6 and Thursday, October 10, 2019, and will include a screening of an introduction with newly unearthed and rarely seen alternate takes.
Production wrapped on Saturday on Paul Feig‘s upcoming Ghostbusters reboot, which will see cameos from the original parapsychologists turned ghost hunters Bill Murray and Dan Aykroyd. The third team member Harold Ramis passed away last year, so sadly he won’t be a part of the new movie, which features an all-female team. But, fans have been wondering about Ernie Hudson, the fourth and final Ghostbuster from the classic 1984 film.
Now, Feig has confirmed that Hudson will also cameo in the new Sony movie!
Feig posted to his Twitter account on September 19, 2015 revealing that Hudson, who played Winston Zeddemore in the original two films, joined the production on its last day.
As part of this year’s celebration of the 30th anniversary of Ghostbusters, some of the cast gathered for a reunion chat with Al Roker and Today, including Bill Murray.
Joining Murray was Sigourney Weaver, Ernie Hudson, Annie Potts, and director Ivan Reitman. Dan Aykroyd and Rick Moranis were not present, and of course Harold Ramis sadly passed away earlier this year.
You can watch a video of the reunited cast talking about the movie below.
