Fresh off their first adventure, the two misfit brothers who’ve accidentally gained super powers are taking on life together — and this time they’ve brought a pet goat along for the ride!

Upon realizing that the bracelets Eric (secretly the superhero named Quantum) and Woody both wear force them to rejuvenate their powers every 24 hours or else they’ll perish, the brothers put aside their differences and move in together. Unfortunately for Eric, Woody — acting like an immature child as always — invites a beautiful clone of the evil scientist who killed their father to live with them. The two men soon begin to grasp the notion that having powers is quite the adjustment. Meanwhile, there are blatantly evil happenings going on all over the city and someone very close to Eric wishes to take advantage of his new found abilities.

I’m a sucker for those good old heist movies, in which there are all kinds of complicated plot twists and turns and surprises, highlighting the advanced master strategy of the protagonist – the forward-thinking nature of the (anti)hero we follow. Enter Thief of Thieves, the concept of which is literally like the above description, though things go awry and the tale moves into a completely singular and sometimes unexpected direction.

Thief of Thieves follows the master of pilfering renowned among the criminal netherworld and organized syndicates, known as Redmond (aka Conrad Paulson). He is the best of the best, and is known for taking down major heists. But in his mind, his time is up – it’s time to step out of the scandalous life, and retire. Despite this, constant evolving events cause him to get dragged back into the lifestyle.

His son, Augustus, tries to follow in his father’s shoes, more so from rebelliousness against Daddy Redmond. Augustus gets himself tied up in Mexican Cartel business, causing his father to step in and attempt to pull his son out of a hole that just keeps getting deeper and deeper.

This brings us to Issue 14″¦

While off at wrestling bootcamp, I learned a many things. I learned the art of the double turn, how to properly hip toss my opponents, while transitioning into the “No Lock.” Yes, I learned a lot of things, but the one think I didn’t learn was how to manage my time properly. Still working on that, but until then, let’s talk about some comic books since that’s what you’re all here for. Ladies and gentlemen, this ain’t ballet! This… is… THE GoD LIST!!!

The GoD List: Comics For January 25, 2012

Each and every week “Let’s Go Red Wings!” MK2Fac3 and “Clap! Clap! Clap, Clap, Clap!” Henchman21 read a lot of comics. Seriously you guys, a lot of comics. Maybe too many comics. I mean, it is possible”¦ theoretically. They look forward to some more than others, I mean, who doesn’t? So, let’s take a look into the depths of their pull lists, grab some comics, and we’ll let YOU know what the top books to look forward to are for the week of January 25, 2012. Single issues and trades, they’re all here.

The other day, I was staring down the barrel of a 30-issue stack of comics with wide eyes and a full heart. By the time I got halfway through, the fact of the matter is that my eyes were starting to squint and my heart shrunk 10 sizes. I’m kind of the reverse-Grinch after he stole Christmas. But only with comics. And really, it’s tough to get excited about comics, because honestly… they let you down a lot of times. So, it’s always a good thing when you find a couple of people that can give you guidance on what are safe bets for things that don’t suck. Hopefully we are those people for you, and when we’re not certain on what’s going to be good or not, we tell you honestly. If there’s one thing you can trust, we’re not here to promote companies, we’re here to promote comics that we enjoy and that we think that you will enjoy.

So, enjoy this, The GoD List, your place for weekly comics and collections!
