Last month, we saw the tiniest sneak peek at the Indominus Rex, the terrifying new genetically engineered hybrid dinosaur making its big-screen debut in this summer’s Jurassic World. The film’s recent Super Bowl Spot also gave a glimpse at the new big baddie, which was created in the film by Hammond Creation Lab for the Jurassic Word theme park to be the most frightening dinosaur ever displayed.
On Saturday at the NY Toy Fair, Hasbro revealed their Jurassic World toy line, which included the first look at their new battery-operated Indominus Rex figure. Check out the photos here below, provided by Hasbro, of the new Indominus Rex, as well as all their Jurassic World toys, including figures, battle sets, and more for raptors like tyrannosaurus rex, stegasaurus, dilophosaurus, ceratosaurus, and others to be seen in the film. The International Toy Fair currently going on in New York City isn’t a convention, even though it may look sort of like one from a distance. Toy Fair is all about sellers trying to woo buyers at the most basic of definitions. There are indie creators in booths huckstering their creations right along side big boys like Hasbro and Mattel. Buyers also range in size from mom and pop hobby shops to Target and Walmart.
Geeks of Doom is on the scene at the Toy Fair, so take a look here below at our first photo gallery of some of what was on display.
Toy Fair NY is going on right now and we’re getting a look at a lot of cool toys that will be coming out in the next few months. One of the big items shown was the first look at Lego‘s line of The Avengers toys, tying into Marvel‘s big movie this year. Marvel’s partnership with Lego was first announced at San Diego Comic-Con 2011, and showed off The Hulk, and now we have seen the rest of the team and their various vehicles. The press release from Marvel did not list an in-store date for these toys, but you can be sure they’ll hit stores leading up to the May 4th release date of the movie.
