Two preview images from Lost Boys 2: The Tribe were posted on actor Corey Feldman‘s official site.
Check out the first image of Feldman here at right; second image of Feldman with co-star Tad Hilgenbrink, as well as the movie’s synopsis, are here after the jump.
Feldman, who reprises his role as Edgar Frog in the upcoming direct-to-DVD sequel, mentions in a recent entry in his personal blog that Warner Bros. is saying that Lost Boys 2 “looks great” and that “they are already talking about doing a third….”
The entry also states that DC Comics is planning a 4-issue comic book series with a storyline that will bridge the gap between the first and second movie. B&B reports that the comic book series will be written by Hans Rodionoff, who also wrote the sequel film (check out STYD‘s exclusive interview with the writer), with art by Joel Gomez.
Lost Boys 2: The Tribe, which is scheduled for release in July 2008, was directed by P.J. Pesce and also stars Autumn Reeser, Angus Sutherland, Jamison Newlander, Tom Savini, Moneca Delain, and Gabrielle Rose.
Synopsis
The sequel to the 1987 cult hit The Lost Boys takes us to the shady surf city of Luna Bay, California, where vampires quickly dispatch anyone who crosses their path. Into this dark world arrive Chris Emerson (Hilgenbrink) and his younger sister, Nicole (Reeser). Having just lost their parents in a car accident, the siblings move in with their eccentric Aunt Jillian and become new prey for the locals way of life. When Nicole unwittingly falls for a local vampire, Chris must locate and destroy the gangs lifeline before his sisters transformation is complete; to do this Chris finds himself relying on the expertise of none other than Edgar Frog (Feldman). Subtle references to characters from the original film, and cameos from returning actors offer homage to the Lost Boys legend and set a sinister tone of impending doom.
I don’t care what anyone says, I’m looking forward to Lost Boys 2

Now, a remake, I could understand but sequel two decades later? Sorry, but that’s just too late. As much as I appreciate the original film, it’s lost its relevance at this point and I don’t see the point in making a sequel. The last line alone in the synopsis is pretty much enough to scare me off.

I Love The LOST BOYS, I just saw it again at a midnight screening and I still love it, I don’t think it’s lost it’s relevance, but then again I’m a biased sucker, I dig the Coreys thanks to nostalgia factor sake. I’m interested in this sequel, it’s been a long time coming, I’ll give it a chance.
