Earlier this week we reported that Geoff Johns tweeted about some footage of a live-action Blue Beetle show was floating around in this mystical “Vault.” [Read Live Action Blue Beetle TV Series In Development?]
Now, Johns has released some screen captures from that test footage, which can be seen at the bottom of this post.
Johns talked about what he has always wanted to see ever since he started working behind the scenes and how as a fanboy himself he wanted to share what he got to see with his fellow fanboys. Well from one fanboy to another, thank you Geoff Johns!
As discussed previously, Johns has continued to say that he will be bringing the actual video footage with him to San Diego Comic Con this year and show it at as many DC panels as he can, so that everyone gets a chance to see it. I am really excited to see how the CGI works. If it works anywhere near as good as it looks in these pictures for a very low budget test than that could end up working very well for the small screen.
Well enough of this beating a dead horse, let me go ahead and quote Johns’s awesome admission of fanboy-ism and let you get to checking out these awesome photos.
“When you’re moving behind the scenes on stuff like film and television there are always a lot of projects, scripts and cool things that are created. I always wanted to hear about and see the development of these projects, even if it was early or they weren’t a sure thing, and now that I have access to the top secret room we keep them in – I call it THE VAULT – I thought I’d share some glimpses at what Warner Bros. and DCE have in there with my fellow DC fanatics.”

Sci-Fi Channel does pretty well with special effects that appear far, far worse than this. For a small screen adaptation of a minor league superhero, these look pretty good!
