Peter Jackson has released the fourth video diary from the ongoing production of the two-part The Hobbit on his Facebook page.

But Jackson and Co. have put a lot of thought into this and it looks like on The Hobbit they’re making use of the most advanced 3D technology to date. The cast and crew are even able to watch dailies in 3D. The lots of video also contains excellent behind-the-scenes footage. At the end we’re informed that The Hobbit has completed the stage shooting portion of the production and will be moving on to location filming for the next few months.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey opens on December 14, 2012 and The Hobbit: There and Back Again opens on December 13, 2013.
