Before Quentin Tarantino can make his grand entrance at the San Diego Comic-Con later this month, he and Jamie Foxx gave their fans a slight tease of Django Unchained at the BET Awards. What they showed can be defined as a true teaser, so while they were nothing more than very quick glimpses of the movie, we got to see some new teases that were not seen in either the domestic or international trailers. Watch the teaser here below.
The music for the new Django Unchained trailer plays a bit like the previous two trailers. This time, however, they really play up to the spaghetti western gerne and use Ennio Morricone’s “Ecstasy of Gold,” which is then followed up by James Brown’s “The Big Payback.”
So while the teaser beats at some familiar notes, some of the new material includes a tease of Kerry Washington and a new look for Leonardo DiCaprio. The best thing about this trailer is that we get to see and hear from Samuel L. Jackson’s character, even if it is only two words.
Foxx plays as the titular character who is a former slave freed by Dr. King Shultz (Christoph Waltz), a German bounty hunter. Together they hunt down the infamous Brittle brothers and journey across America America to free his wife Broomhilda (Washington) from the sadistic slave plantation owner Calvin Candie (DiCaprio). Sounds like a good bit of fun right?
The film also stars M.C. Gainey, Walton Goggins, Garrett Dillahunt, Dennis Christopher, Gerald McRaney, Laura Cayouette, Don Johnson, and Tom Savini. Django Unchained opens in theaters on December 25th.
