There’s a large existing group of MMO gamers out there, most of whom play World of Warcraft while others play a variety of different options. But the problem with MMOs has been that console gamers have had little to no interest in getting a proper PC just to play one. That said, even the most anti-MMO gamers (myself included) have been hypnotized by an upcoming title that’s looking to change the game.
The title of this MMO is The Elder Scrolls Online, and it is of course set in the same world as Bethesda’s Elder Scrolls games, including Oblivion and Skyrim. Just that alone was enough to intrigue first-person open world RPG fans such as myself, but then came our first good looks at the game itself, and they too were stunning. Unlike any MMO I’ve ever seen. But still, would we buy a new gaming PC just to play? Not likely.
Now comes the game changer. It has officially been announced that this MMO will not only be available for the Mac and the PC, but that you’ll also be able to play it on the PlayStation 4 and Xbox One consoles! Continue below to see a new trailer for the game.
As you can see in the trailer, you can even play in first-person perspective! That’s probably the most exciting thing I’ve seen so far. A giant Elder Scrolls game that allows you to travel to every area previous games have taken place in, from Morrowind to Cyrodiil to Skyrim, all while hanging out with friends? Brilliant!
You also have to assume that if this is a success, a Fallout Online can’t be too far off, either.
