The horror movie season fast approaches, so here’s a pair of trailers for upcoming scary flicks to end your Thursday on.
The movies are The Babadook, which is getting overwhelmingly positive reviews after festival screenings at Sundance, Fantastic Fest, and others, and Extraterrestrial, an alien attack movie.
You can watch both trailers below.
The Babadook is written and directed by Jennifer Kent, making her feature debut. It follows a woman, after the death of her husband, struggling with her six-year-old son, who believes a monster he’s been dreaming about called the Babadook is coming to kill them both.
Extraterrestrial comes from The Vicious Brothers, Colin Minihan and Stuart Ortiz, the writing/directing duo behind the 2011 horror Grave Encounters. It uses the old faithful cabin in the woods settings, where a group of friends staying there discover a UFO crash site and end up killing an alien that survived the accident, leading to an aggressive response from its alien brethren.
Unfortunately neither movie comes out in October when you’d most want to watch them—Babadook will be released in theaters and VOD on 28th; Extraterrestrial one week earlier on the 21st—but it’s always good to have upcoming horrors to look forward to!
