The best places to find horror movies are on streaming sites. Most of the horror that ends up in theatres are money grabs that rely totally on jump scares and cheap parlor tricks… I’m talking movies like Ouija, Annabelle, and the dreadful looking, upcoming Sinister 2. But horror fans can rely on sites like Netflix to update regularly, and breathe some fresh air into otherwise stale genres. After nearly twenty minutes of “spin the queue” last night, I settled on Would You Rather. The film’s cast struck me right away as it’s two featured stars were Brittany Snow (great in Hairspray and the Pitch Perfect films) and Dr. Herbert West himself, horror veteran Jeffrey Combs. The plot seemed utterly simple: 8 people under desperate financial stress are invited to a dinner party hosted by an eccentric millionaire. Together, they’ll play a game, and the winner will be taken care of. What could possibly go wrong?

Nick Chambers (Elijah Wood) is a lucky guy. As the winner of an online contest, he gets to have dinner with actress Jill Goddard (Sasha Grey). Goddard is promoting her latest film, Dark Sky, at the Alamo Drafthouse in Austin, where Nick is scheduled to meet up with her afterward.
But then he gets a phone call from Chord, Jill’s manager. Chord (Neil Maskell) informs Nick that dinner is cancelled – that Goddard bailed on the contest – but there is a consolation prize, one that will allow Nick to interact with Jill in a way no fan ever has.
Chord gives Nick a set of hi-tech tools to spy on Jill from his laptop, giving him total access to her personal information and electronic devices, as well as security cameras. As Chord begins relaying instructions to Nick, it becomes apparent that Chord isn’t who he says he is, and that Nick is a puppet in a much bigger, more sinister plot.
Screenwriter and film director James Gunn released the second episode of his web humor series PG Porn on Sunday evening. Entitled “Roadside Ass-sistance,” the video is the second in a series of shorts that Gunn designed for “people who like everything about porn…except the sex.”
Gunn is the writer of the Scooby Doo film series, as well as the 2004 remake of George Romero’s Dawn of the Dead. He is also the writer/director of the Nathan Fillion and Elizabeth Banks horror-comedy vehicle Slither.
Working in association with Spike.com, Gunn’s PG Porn series features a different celebrity and porn star combination in each episode. The characters find themselves in typical porn movie situations, but just as things are about to turn sexual something goes horribly wrong.
The latest episode, “Roadside Ass-sistance” features writer / director James Gunn himself, alongside popular porn actress Sasha Grey. When Grey’s car breaks down, Gunn offers to use his “tool” to repair it, with hilarious results. (Careful: While there is no nudity, the video is still slightly NSFW.)
