I know that I’m The Movie God, but as this site deals with all things that we love as Geeks, I figured that I would touch on other news bits as I saw them and this one happens to be huge and very exciting.
After weeks of rumors and hopes it has been officially announced that there will indeed be a sequel to the instantly-immortal game of the year for 2007, Bioshock.
If you’re like me and a big fan of next-gen gaming, you most likely played Bioshock this year. If you’re like me you were swallowed by the world and in awe of every turn. The mixture of unique storylines, some of the most beautiful and haunting settings and visuals ever created, period music setting the perfect stage and feel of the time frame and literally the greatest voice acting ever pulled off in video games… ever, it was not hard to see the legitimacy of this game.
This news just broke and the game is aiming for a Fall 2009 (Ah, so very long!) release date, so there is no details at all where they may go with the game.
I’ve heard rumblings and one was that one possibility might be a prequel, not a sequel at all. That would be my choice, as – if you’ve played the game, you know – a sequel would be tough. I also think that walking around the city of Rapture BEFORE it went to hell and it was still a civilization of sorts would be equally as magical as it was walking around an essentially destroyed underwater ruin.
Limited, but exciting news indeed!

There can be a sequel… You could just be a different guy than the guy you were in the first one. Remember the sailors at the end of the game movie? You could be one of those sailors at the end of the first game. Maybe one survived the attack of the zombies and he goes down to the city……and there you go….. a sequel
