Hopefully you weren’t one of the many HBO GO users who didn’t get to see the season finale of True Detective last night after the eighth and final episode caused the streaming service to crash.

Titled “Form and Void,” the season 1 finale saw former partners Marty Hart (Woody Harrelson) and Rust Cohle (Matthew McConaughey) together in 2012 as private detectives revisiting the Dora Lange case and hot on the trail of The Yellow King serial killer.

I’m guessing that, like me, you still have a lot of questions about the season 1 finale. HBO has released a 5-minute “Inside The Episode #8” video, which you can watch here below.

In this “inside the episode” video, writer Nic Pizzolatto and director Cary Fukunaga do answer some questions about what’s going on with Rust and Marty, as well as the perspective of The Yellow King. There’s a lot of details revealed and clips from the episode, so if you haven’t seen the finale, hold off on watching this video for now.

This show has been one helluva mind-fuck and though this video gave me some insight on the finale, I still have a lot of unanswered questions! I’m hoping the Season 1 DVD will come with lots of behind-the-scenes featurettes and bonus content.
