One very interesting movie that has flown under the radar for the most part, is Splice. The movie is produced by Guillermo Del Toro and stars Adrien Brody and Sarah Polley. It follows a couple of crazy scientists who decide to splice human genes with animal genes, like that could ever go wrong!
The movie looks incredibly messed up, but in a really good way. If you haven’t seen anything about Splice, make sure you catch up by heading on over to AICN for the first bit of info that was released on the movie a while back, as well as the first batch of nightmare-inducing images. Be warned, this particular set of images is of the R-rated NSFW variety. So long as this doesn’t offend you, it’s well worth the trip, trust me. This is a movie you will be excited about.
It’s rare to find a horror movie to look forward to, but this one is definitely up there. It has a Species vibe to it with a definitive Guillermo Del Toro look to it.
After catching up with the first batch of pics, click over for a full synopsis and the newest images.
Here’s the full description:
The film is about Elsa and Clive, two young rebellious scientists, defy legal and ethical boundaries and forge ahead with a dangerous experiment: splicing together human and animal DNA to create a new organism. Named Dren, the creature rapidly develops from a deformed female infant into a beautiful but dangerous winged human-chimera, who forges a bond with both of her creators – only to have that bond turn deadly.
Splice is directed by Vincenzo Natali, who also wrote the script with Antoinette Terry Bryant and Doug Taylor.
Below are the newest set of images from the movie, courtesy of Bloody-Disgusting with a couple from the AICN story mixed in. I seriously can’t wait for a trailer to this one.
