BOOM! Studios is looking to redefine the western genre this June with the debut of their new mini-series Pale Horse.
The story revolves around ex-slave and former Union soldier Cole. A man who holds family above all else in his life. A man who has spent the years after the Civil War building a reputation as the most fearsome bounty hunter in the land. A man whose life is turned upside down when a bounty is placed on his head. When Cole isn’t able to protect his family he goes on a rampage of revenge, leaving only a trail of blood in his wake. With nothing but his horse, his one surviving son and his gun, Cole’s rampage leaves no stone unturned and no culprit alive.
BOOM! Studios Managing Editor Matt Gagnon had this to say about the upcoming mini-series:
“This is not you grandaddy’s western! The team of Nelson, DiBari, Manco and Adler bring comic fans a whole new look for the western and take the readers on an intense ride. The action is non-stop and the grit of world is palpable. Saddle up for a new vision of the old west!”
Pale Horse will include the writing talents of Michael Alan Nelson (28 Days Later), interior art by Christian Dibari (Robin, Deadpool) and covers by Leonardo Manco (Hellblazer) and Robert Adler.
Pale Horse will be a four issue mini-series and debuts this June.
…So it’s like Lone Wolf and Cub but set in the Old West?
