Coming off the great critical, albeit middling box office, success of his latest film, Moneyball, director Bennett Miller has lined up an interesting team for his next film, Foxcatcher.
Already to star Steve Carell, 24 Frames is reporting that Channing Tatum has joined the film’s cast.
The flick will follow John du Pont, ” the heir to the du Pont chemical fortune who, in an apparent fit of paranoid schizophrenia, infamously shot and killed the Olympic wrestler Dave Schultz in 1996 at a Pennsylvania facility du Pont had built (the titular Foxcatcher). He was jailed for the crime, and died in prison in 2010.”
The film is penned by E. Max Frye and Dan Futterman, and is set to shoot come March of 2012. Personally, as a fan of both Capote and Moneyball I am actually quite intrigued to see what Tatum can do under his guidance. Miller is a massively talented filmmaker, and given the interesting premise, this should definitely be a film to keep a hyper-keen eye on.
What do you think?
