The first trailer for an upcoming movie titled Area 407 ha been released.
The movie is of the found footage variety, filmed by two teenage sisters who are on their way to Los Angeles from New York. Their plane fights through terrible turbulence caused by severe weather and eventually crashes in a remote government testing reserve dubbed Area 407, where, as you might have guessed, very bad things lurk.
You can check out the trailer for Area 407 below.
The movie looks like a documentary combination of LOST and Jurassic Park, starting with the plane crashing in a strange and mysterious place and leading to a fight for survival against (what looks like) some kinds of dinosaurs.
Surely there will be a couple more twists to what’s going on, but as it is, this looks like it could be a fun found footage B-movie along the same lines of a 8213: Gacy House.
Area 407 is directed by Dale Fabrigar and Everette Wallin, and stars Abigail Schrader, Samantha Lester, James Lyons, Melanie Lyons, Brendan Patrick Connor, Ken Garcia, Samantha Sloyan, Everette Wallin, and Jude Gerard Prest.
It hits select theaters and will also be available through IFC Midnight Cable Video OnDemand and various digital outlets (SundanceNOW, iTunes, Amazon Streaming, XBOX Zune, and PlayStation Unlimited) on April 27, 2012.

Growing tired of dark, scratchy, snowy, shaky, “found footage” movies too. Do digital cameras these days even suffer from disturbances in picture quality that analog video tapes did back in the day? I will say that the story actually does interest me though! Sadly, just don’t want to sit through an hour and a half of poor quality video to watch this and so my mind is already made up that I’ll wait for this to appear on cable.
