Michael Bay Confirms ‘Transformers 4’ Will Be His Last For The Film Franchise

So just in case you haven’t had your fill of Transformers with three major features and a ride that recently opened at Universal Studios Hollywood, there is the forthcoming movie that is to be directed by Michael Bay. The director, who helmed the first three Transformers movies, will be coming back for a fourth and final time. At least it will be the final time.
Bay, who gave the LA Times a few details about the fourth untitled Transformers movie, mentioned that there will be new designs, a new cast, and that it will be the set up for the next director who helms the next wave of Transformers films. Because let’s face it, there is going to be more.
There’s plenty more Transformer action to come with a major new video game release, “Transformers: Fall of Cybertron,” due in August and another Bay movie in the works. (The director, by the way, says that the fourth film will include some redesign of the robots and an entirely new cast. He also said it will be his last and set the franchise up “for the next guy.”)
We already know that the principle cast from the first three Transformers movies won’t be returning to reprise their characters and the aforementioned quote seems to confirm that notion. But the most surprising thing about the movie itself is that it will be used as a basis for future sequels that will be helmed by a different director. As to who could be directing those possible sequels, Bay did not reveal who he would like to see as his successor. But I think it’s about time that someone else grab the reins and take the film franchise in a new direction.

That happy moment when I read “Transformers 4 will be his Last Film Ever”
That awkward/sad moment when I read it correctly.
