Are there real ghosts inside The Haunted Mansion, the famous ride at Disneyland? A new video claims that the answer to this question is “yes,” and you can check it out below.
The story, as told to the Disney blog Inside the Magic, is that an “anonymous cast member” sent along a single blurry image as a tease of a supposed little boy ghost haunting The Haunted Mansion ride (see it here), and a promise of a full video to come. That video did eventually come. But the question remains, is it real?

OK, so clearly this is all about theatrics…as you can tell as soon as you start the video. It opens with the overused “this footage is unaltered” promise to try and help sell the authenticity. Still, the short movie, which comes from the Daws Brothers, is surprisingly some good cheesy fun, aided by the fact that they went to Disneyland and pulled off making it. It may have even been spooky, had they had the time to develop the story and characters a little bit. Clocking in at a shade under eleven minutes, there’s only so much you can pull off.
As a sucker for all things found footage, I’m always open to new ones. Setting it someplace as magical and child-friendly as Disneyland is pretty brilliant. It’s very doubtful Disney would be open to letting them adapt it into a feature, but I think it’d be a lot of fun to see.
What do you think?
