It’s pretty well-known that if J.J. Abrams is going to be attached to anything, we won’t know much about it until we see the actual film. It’s something of a standard practice for the filmmaker to keep the audiences interested throughout the production of his projects, and although Star Trek Into Darkness is just under two month away, we are still nowhere closer to finding out the details of Benedict Cumberbatch’s villainous character in the sequel. But some new pictures from Empire should be more than enough to whet our geek appetite until the film’s release.
Check out some of the new images below.
These photos don’t reveal anything we don’t already know – and again, there’s lot we don’t know. Perhaps the most interesting thing about these photos is that there will be more guns and rifles in this film. Also interesting is the newest piece of equipment to starfleet command, which is marked as MC-9321. There has to be a reason why Paramount allowed Empire to publish the photo. So there could be more to this tiny ship than we expect, or it just could be a ship that appears in a scene and is never seen again.
Star Trek Into Darkness stars Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana, Benedict Cumberbatch, John Cho, Alice Eve, Chris Pine, Karl Urban, Peter Weller, Anton Yelchin, and Bruce Greenwood. The film opens in theaters on May 17.
