A trailer has a tendency to reveal either the best parts of the film or too much of it. So after watching this first trailer for Escape Plan, starring Arnold Schwarzenegger and Sylvester Stallone, there is a sense that it’s both of that.
The film is about two prisoners who try to break out of the world’s most inescapable prison. One prisoner actually makes a living on breaking out of prison (Stallone) and the other an aged criminal who will help him break out (Schwarzenegger).
While the premise sounds like the basis of a good old fashioned action movie, this trailer just gives too much of the plot away. Check it out below.
During the first few seconds of the trailer we start to see Stallone’s methods for breaking out, but then it is revealed that this is what the guy does for a living. But there is one prison that request his services. He accepts the offer only to find out that he isn’t there for a job. So the only way to find out who did it is to break out using his methods, which has him in cahoots with Schwarzenegger. Then we see that they do actually break out. And of course the trailer closes with the two in a gun battle.
Not really sure how much there is left to see after watching that trailer. We practically get the entire film in two and a half minutes. But who knows, maybe there is something that is better than what we are seeing in this trailer.
Directed by Mikael HÃ¥fström, Escape Plan also features Jim Caviezel, Curtis Jackson, Vinnie Jones, Vincent D’Onofrio and Amy Ryan. The film will open in theaters on October 18.

I think the only thing left of the movie is to watch Stallone and Schwarzenegger desperately try to hold onto their relevance.
