Peugeot 208 Commercial Features Homage To Hanna-Barbera’s ‘Wacky Races’ From The ’60s (Video)

Surely I cannot be the only one that fondly remembers Hanna-Barbera‘s Wacky Races cartoons. You know, the ones where different cartoon characters race one another and all sorts of hijinks ensue? Well, the French car company Peugeot showed some love for the ‘toons in a recent commercial for their 2014 Peugeot 208.

Where most car companies show an ad featuring their vehicles racing around or cruising through a cityscape, Peugeot has definitely gone above and beyond with this one. I’ve dropped the video in below so you can check it out after the article.

Featuring the Ant Hill Mob, Penelope Pitstop, Red Max, the Gruesome Twosome, as well as Dick Dastardly and Muttley, the commercial is completely legit as far as resurrecting my childhood for a brief minute and a half. There are nods to other characters like Peter Perfect, Sergeant Blast, and Private Meekly, but I was sad to not see Professor Pat Pending in there.

Not that I’m complaining; this has to be my favorite commercial of the year so far. So much awesomeness should be rewarded, so make sure you give this an upvote if you dig it. And go check out this new 208, any car-maker that can make me so nostalgic probably has some great features on their rides. But as promised, here is the commercial.
