NYCC 2018: First Look At SYFY’s ‘Happy!’ Season 2

Happy!

SYFY released the first look at season two of one of the craziest shows on television right now, Happy!, for New York Comic-Con 2018.

While not a trailer the preview does offer some peeks at footage from the new season paired with comments from those involved with the show. And one of the clear messages of this first look video is that they’re taking things to new levels of insane in the follow-up season, which is something truly difficult to grasp if you witnessed what they got away with in the first season.

Click on over to the other side now to check out the video.

More About HAPPY!:

HAPPY! is based on New York Times best-selling author Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson’s graphic novel of the same name. The series follows Nick Sax (Christopher Meloni, Law & Order: SVU) – an intoxicated, corrupt ex-cop turned hit man – who is adrift in a world of casual murder, soulless sex and betrayal. After a hit gone wrong, his inebriated life is forever changed by a tiny, relentlessly positive, imaginary blue winged horse named Happy (Patton Oswalt).

Happy! is based on the Image Comics graphic novel of the same name by Grant Morrison and Darick Robertson (who also has Amazon’s The Boys, an adaptation of he and Garth Ennis’s comic from Seth Rogen, Evan Goldberg). It was created by Morrison and Crank and Crank: High Voltage writer and director Brian Taylor, who also executive produces directs, and Patrick Macmanus (Marco Polo) is executive producer and showrunner.

Also starring in the series is Medina Senghore, Lili Mirojnick, Bryce Lorenzo, Ritchie Coster, Patrick Fischler, and Christopher Fitzgerald.

One thing that the season two first look video reveals is that the new season will also revolve around a new holiday. The first season was set during the Christmas season, and the new season will take place during Easter. With this now officially a theme, I can’t wait for them to get to Halloween. It’s going to be incredible. So long as SYFY doesn’t pull the plug prematurely. Don’t you dare, SYFY. Seriously.

If you’ve not yet given the show a chance, you should most definitely dive in and join everyone in frolicking through this absurd and ultra-violent adventure. I’m not sure of all the places the first season is currently available to watch, but you can find episodes on Amazon’s Prime Video if you can’t find any better options.

Happy! returns for its second season in 2019.
