Those who are overly excited for the upcoming release of It Chapter Two will have a chance to float once again next month when It Chapter One returns to theaters for a limited engagement.
Though 2017’s Chapter One is already out on Blu-ray, the film’s return to theaters will have something the home editions don’t: a post-credits reveal that includes 8 minutes of new footage from the upcoming sequel.
It Chapter One will return to theaters for 2 nights only on Saturday, August 3 and Tuesday, August 6, and tickets are on sale now through Fandango.
Of course, 8 minutes might seem like a small amount of footage considering Chapter Two’‘s reported runtime will be 2 hours and 45 minutes, but the re-release in theaters will give fans a chance to return to Derry ahead of the sequel’s release in theaters on September 6, 2019. And 8 minutes is a lot when you’re really looking forward to a new movie.
Here is the confirmation of the news per Fandango’s Twitter:
It will be interesting what this post-credits footage will reveal about the upcoming film.
Here’s the official plot synopsis:
Because every 27 years, evil revisits the town of Derry, Maine, It Chapter Two brings the characters “” who’ve long since gone their separate ways “” back together as adults, nearly three decades after the events of the first film.

Reprising their roles as the original members of the Losers Club, the young actors returning are Jaeden Martell as Bill, Wyatt Oleff as Stanley, Jack Dylan Grazer as Eddie, Finn Wolfhard as Richie, Sophia Lillis as Beverly, Chosen Jacobs as Mike, and Jeremy Ray Taylor as Ben. Bill Skarsgård will be back in the seminal role of Pennywise.
