From Abraham Lincoln, to the Archangel Michael, actor Benjamin Walker is having one hell of a run. The star of the upcoming film Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter has, according to Deadline, joined the cast of the equally intriguing Paradise Lost.

Director Alex Proyas revealed that Walker will join the film’s star, Bradley Cooper, in Paradise Lost, which takes on the legendary Milton story that follows the battle between Michael and Cooper’s Lucifer. The New York Times has our very first official look at just how accurate director Timur Bekmambetov is aiming for in his adaptation of the alternate history action/horror, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

In the image, which can be seen above (click to go a little larger; no high-quality version has been released yet), you’ll see star Benjamin Walker (X-Men: First Class) in full Abraham Lincoln costume making a speech. Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter

Back in March we found out that the producing duo on Shane Acker’s 9, Tim Burton and Timur Bekmambetov, would be uniting once again for a movie based on Pride and Prejudice and Zombies author Seth Grahame-Smith‘s new novel, Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter.

At the time, it was unclear who would direct the movie, which tells an alternate history tale of Abraham Lincoln who also happened to battle supernatural evil in addition to his political accomplishments. Now, after a little chat with Empire Magazine, Bekmambetov has revealed that it is he who plans on directing the movie, and is preparing it at this very moment.

You can click over to read a description of Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter, as well as to see the trailer for the book.

The Addams Family

Tim Burton is a constantly busy man; between writing, producing, and directing, he always has something on the table to work on. So what would the visual master take on next? According to recent reports from Deadline Hollywood, it could be a new stop-motion movie based on Charles AddamsThe Addams Family, which originated as regular cartoons in The New Yorker from the ’30s straight on through to the ’80s when Addams passed away.

Most of us are only familiar with The Addams Family from the ’60s television series and the Raul Julia, Anjelica Huston, and Christopher Lloyd movie remakes we saw in the ’90s. Burton supposedly wants to ignore all of those and go right to Addams’ cartoons from the New Yorker and make a much more sharp and witty movie. The project will bring Burton back to the world of stop-motion animation, which he was involved in as a writer/producer on The Nightmare Before Christmas, producer on James and the Giant Peach, and as writer/producer/director on Corpse Bride.
