In the aftermath of their defeat at the hands of the First Order on Crait that has left them with enough crew to populate the Millennium Falcon and not much else, the Resistance is scrambling to re-group while simultaneously attempting to shore up their forces through recruitment. Journey to Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker – Spark of the Resistance highlights one such mission in which the crew of the Falcon receives a distress call from the planet Minfar. Despite orders to the contrary, they head out and are met by the Zixon, to whom they swear they will protect from the First Order who are also on the planet. Our heroes, however, must balance the importance of keeping their word and protecting the Zixon while also knowing that they are shirking direct orders.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Rey and Kylo battle

The future of Star Wars is very unclear. There was a point when Game of Thrones creators David Benioff and D.B. Weiss were developing a new trilogy which would have followed the origins of the Jedi. However, creative differences forced them to walk away from the project. This left the franchise in a state of uncertainty because Disney had already scheduled three Star Wars films to be released between 2022 and 2026. And with the Skywalker saga coming to a close with the release of Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker in December, fans are interested in seeing where the mythology goes after it is all said and done.

Though many of us have questions, Lucasfilm president Kathleen Kennedy can provide a few answers. Though she will try to remain as vague as possible so as not to drop any spoilers too early, her plans could involve putting together a creative team which includes names like Jon Favreau, Michelle Rejwan, and Dave Filoni. More on the report below.

Star Wars: The Rise Of Skywalker Crew

It’s hard to imagine that a nine-film arc like Star Wars has been able to sustain itself over a 42-year span. Now that story comes to an epic conclusion with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker, which closes the book on the Skywalker saga which first started in 1977. The original trilogy centered mainly on Luke’s path, while the prequel trilogy focused more on Anakin’s path towards the dark side. This latest trilogy is ushering in a new dynamic, which sees Han Solo and General Leia’s son, Kylo Ren (Adam Driver) embracing the dark side, while the mysterious Rey (Daisy Ridley) fights to bring balance to the Force. And it appears that director J.J. Abrams is running on all cylinders to make sure that the final film in the trilogy and the Skywalker saga has a proper ending.

While we have seen two trailers and some footage so far, we still know very little about the film itself. But Abrams and some of the cast have now opened up about the sequel a little bit. See what they had to say below.

Star Wars The Rise Of Skywalker header

No matter the trilogy, Star Wars has revolved around the Skywalker family and two warring factions. But next month, it all comes to an epic conclusion with Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker. The film is still a little over a month away from release, the cast and crew have been making the typical media rounds at Star Wars Celebration and D23, and the marketing team has released trailers, footage, and more.

Now, in an effort to increase that huge hype, a new handful of images have been released that see Rey (Daisy Ridley) going through some lightsaber training with a very familiar remote, a legion of stormtroopers storming a snowy location, and Poe (Oscar Isaac) piloting the Millennium Falcon. Check out these new images below.
