“Are you afraid of me? I’m afraid of myself.”

The Returned premiered on A&E last week with Episode 1.1 “Camille”, and I was all in from the start. It is Camille (India Innenga) who is afraid in the first promo, admitting that to her now non-identical (not exactly sure if that’s how it works) twin sister who aged without her, while she languished in the unknown, dead for years.

I love a good back-from-the-dead story like any other girl, but with the wave of zombie-ish chic on now and coming soon (Resurrection, The Walking Dead, iZombie), my husband’s natural skepticism for The Returned was contagious. However, I will watch a Carlton Cuse infomercial if one was available, plus I got the advanced screener, so… I was game, keeping in mind that pilots are usually not the best a show can offer.

I was hooked on The Returned in the first 5 minutes.
