Consider this very much a rumor, but an intriguing one.

Cosmic Book News is reporting that WB has cast Bradley Cooper in the role of Lex Luthor for their upcoming Superman film, The Man Of Steel. Now, this would only be a cameo appearance for the actor and character, but it would ultimately hint at something to come for this franchise, one would imagine.

The film is directed by Zack Snyder, and is easily one of 2013’s most exciting pictures, particularly because of that fact. I apparently was one of maybe three or four people who found Snyder’s last film, Sucker Punch, to be utterly enthralling, going as far to deem Snyder as a type of pop-art auteur. And in that idea, the possibility of seeing someone like Snyder take on another comic franchise after crafting a masterpiece in Watchmen makes this project beyond exciting.
