Last week we reported that exclusive scenes from Ang Lee‘s Life of Pi were been shown in front of 3D showings for Fox movies. Prometheus was the first, and more scenes will be shown when Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter hits theaters later this month. Now I am kind of upset at myself for not watching Prometheus in 3D.
It’s a new strategy for the studio to get audiences interested in the movie. They haven’t even shown a teaser trailer yet. I haven’t heard any reactions to these clips so I can’t make any real judgments. Perhaps it’s because the audience didn’t know what Life of Pi is to begin with.
But as Fox continues to push this new way to market the film, the studio has released a very brief clip from Life of Pi. Check it out below.
In addition to the clip, five new watercolor-like images have emerged online. They debuted on the official Life of Pi website. You may notice that the images are pushing you to watch Prometheus in 3D to see the exclusive scene. I am not sure if it is the same scene shown below, but it’s a great way to get everyone to watch a movie in 3D.
Life of Pi centers on a boy named Pi who becomes stranded on a life boat with a zebra, orangutan, and a Bengal tiger after the ship he boarded sinks into the Pacific. Suraj Sharma plays as the titular character, and he is joined by Tobey Maguire, Irrfan Khan, Adil Hussain, and Gerard Depardieu.
Life of Pi will open in theaters on November 21.

i saw a clip right before Prometheus 3D in Red Deer Alberta. Â I thought for a minute I was in the wrong theatre lol. Â It was a very intense scene where the boy and the tiger are fighting over a big fish while they are being pelted with flying fish. Â Very strange. Â Did not increase my desire to see the movie. Â And I’m tiger fanatic.
