Avengers: Age of Ultron is well into production, with some of the actors already shooting their scenes. But one new addition we have yet to see is Paul Bettany, who played J.A.R.V.I.S. in the first three Iron Man films and The Avengers. Earlier this year, it was confirmed that he would play The Vision in the upcoming Avengers sequel, and like James Spader playing Ultron, we don’t really know if this will be a voice role or a motion capture role.
But in a new interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Bettany teases a little bit about his character upgrade, and what we can expect to see from him. Hit the jump to learn more and see a video of Bettany talking to Kimmel.
Here’s a little transcript of Bettany “describing” The Vision:
“Oh I can do all sorts of things, but I’m not really allowed to be talking about them and what we’re going to do because there might be a Marvel agent in the room who will actually wrestle me to the ground and fire me.”
Kimmel mentioned that his powers can be found in the comic books, but Bettany added that the directors pick and choose. So it’s possible that he may not have density shifting, flight, super strength, self-repair, etc. As Kimmel would point out, the better question is what powers won’t The Vision have?
The actor also talked about how he didn’t do much in the first three Iron Man films and Avengers except record a voice for 45 minutes, and in return Marvel Studios would throw a bag of cash at him for a hard day’s work. Now that he is in Avengers: Age of Ultron, he actually gets to do something other than just banter with Tony Stark.
Avengers: Age of Ultron opens in theaters on May 1, 2015.
