Clive Barker has announced that HarperCollins will be publishing his new novel Mister B. Gone later this year. The short horror novel, which the author hopes will be out by Halloween, will be slightly long than Barker’s Thief of Always and is intended for an adult readership.
According to the author’s official Web site, the book promises to be a psychologically scary tale of demonic horrors. Barker wrote Mister B. Gone while also working on his upcoming Scarlet Gospels, a new Pinhead tale that pits the Cenobites leader against fellow Barker character Harry D’Amour.
Also, the third book in Barker’s Abarat series titled Abarat: Absolute Midnight is due out later this year and will be black both in sentiment and cover design. A gold cover is planned for the fourth installment, titled Abarat: The Eternal.
As previously reported at Geeks of Doom, Barker will script the remake of his 1987 horror flick Hellraiser and is working on a movie about teens who unlock a curse linked to Edgar Allen Poe. Also, the author’s serial killer story Midnight Meat Train is being developed into a feature film titled Midnight Meat Train with star Bradley Cooper.
