IESB was on the prowl at the recent Saturn Awards and was able to pull aside the likes of Doug Jones, Guillermo del Toro, Frank Marshall, and Patrick Crowley and score some little bits out of them.
With Jones, we learned that he is busy as hell and has cameos in upcoming movies such as Quarantine, Super Capers, and Legion. It also seems (though not yet confirmed) that both he and Del Toro expect that Jones will have a role or two in The Hobbit movies as well. With that guy, he could probably play an entire Orc army, so who knows!
They also discussed Hellboy 3 and shared that they’ve talked about it and there’s a plan in place for it if they do indeed decide to make it way down the road, as it will be a while before Del Toro has time for that.
While talking to Frank Marshall and Patrick Crowley, they enthusiastically confirmed that another Bourne is definitely on the way and that they’re hoping to start filming next summer, with a 2010 release. Interestingly, there’s no fourth book by author of the original three books, Robert Ludlum, so they basically admit that they will be putting together their own story for this one, which could be good or bad, depending on your view of the first three movies.
Lastly, they were asked about the chance for more Indiana Jones, which doesn’t look very likely right now, but it’s always a possibility. A quote like “…it took us 19 years to come up with a script, so, we’re all gonna be way too old” makes me think it’s not happening, but if someone pulls a shiny and beautiful script out of their ass, it wouldn’t shock me to see this keep going with Harrison Ford or Shia Labeouf.
Both video interviews are entertaining and worth checking out below:
