It’s been a bad, bad week for many fans of TV’s bountiful variety of shows. And since we don’t cover a whole lot of TV here at Geeks of Doom, aside from those we’ll pile it all into one mega-super-post.
The devastating week has left a veritable who’s who of ultra-popular titles dead in its wake, as shows like Fox’s 24, Scrubs, and The Hills have all been canceled. Rumors of their demise had been circulating for a while now, and it actually took confirmations from strange places to support the claims.
The most recent announcement comes from John Cassar, director and producer of 24, who announced on his Twitter account (which is becoming the best way to get confirmation right from the source these days) in 140-characters “News from the 24 set,the crew has been told that 24 has come to an end. There will b no season 9. Its been a great run, thanx all 4 watching.”
When it came to Scrubs, who had already jumped to a second network to keep the show going, it was star and producer Zach Braff who was the bearer of bad news on his Facebook page.
Many of you have asked, so here it is: It appears that ‘New Scrubs’, ‘Scrubs 2.0’, ‘Scrubs with new kids’, ‘Scrubbier’, ‘Scrubs without JD’ is no more. It was worth a try, but alas …… it didn’t work.
Those are the two losses most fans will be depressed about, but there were a couple other big announcements. First up, MTV has finally decided to kill The Hills, which should have been done after about one episode. After that, it was also revealed that Katherine Heigl would be leaving Grey’s Anatomy. No one really cares about these two bombshells — many even might be celebrating both of them — but since we’re going TV wild, they might as well be noted.

Actually I think Katherine Heigl leaving Grey’s Anatomy was probably the biggest story of the week. If you take a look at things..a lot of people cared about it..for and against. The Hills..yeah I agree with that :)

Heigl was the only watchable part of Grey’s Anatomy, which is why the show’s ratings have tanked without her this season.
