At the recent San Diego Comic Con, a teaser trailer and footage from Guillermo del Toro‘s Don’t Be Afraid of the Dark made a huge impact on the crowd (Read: SDCC 2010: “˜Don’t Be Afraid Of The Dark’ Panel With Guillermo del Toro). It also helped that del Toro, who wrote and produced the film, was being as hilarious as we’ve seen him, but truly this is something people will be excited to see.
The movie is a remake of the 1973 horror title of the same name. It will tell the story of a girl who goes to live with her father and his girlfriend in a large old house. Before long, they discover that an evil resides within the house, and it wants the young girl to itself.
Now you can get a small peek at what was shown at Comic Con with the release of the movie’s official teaser trailer. As described in the panel recap, it’s a brief video that has some voice over and shows a little girl attempting to hide from something under her bed covers.
