The Charles Dickens novella A Christmas Carol is a timeless classic, adapted a great many times in the years since its publication in 1843.

For the upcoming holiday season a new adaptation of the tale is coming, this time from Peaky Blinders creator Steven Knight. A teaser trailer for this latest take was released earlier this week, and it promises a darker version of the story than most of the previous adaptations we’ve seen.

Sony Pictures Entertainment released an official trailer for Bloodshot this week. The movie stars Vin Diesel, and is based on the Valiant comic book of the same name.

In the movie Diesel plays a soldier who was killed and brought back to life as a super soldier capable of healing instantly thanks to nanotechnology in his veins. You can find a brief synopsis for Bloodshot and check out the official trailer along with an international trailer below.

An official trailer has been released for The Catcher Was a Spy, an espionage thriller From IFC Films.

The movie is based on the book The Catcher Was A Spy: The Mysterious Life of Moe Berg by Nicholas Dawidoff, which tells the true story of Berg (played by Paul Rudd), a catcher for the Boston Red Sox who ended up becoming a spy during World War II. Netflix has released a trailer for The Innocents, an upcoming original series.

The series is created, written, and executive produced by Hania Elkington and Simon Duric, and stars Sorcha Groundsell (Clique, Far from the Apple Tree), Percelle Ascott (Wizards vs. Aliens), and Guy Pearce (Memento, Alien Covenant).

Today is Ridley Scott‘s 79th birthday. So happy birthday, Mr. Scott. The man who brought us Alien, Blade Runner, Gladiator, and The Martian, not to mention the many other films and TV shows he is a producer on. He is currently hard at work putting the finishing touches on Alien: Covenant.

So to help celebrate this momentous occasion a new behind-the-scenes photo from the set of Scott’s upcoming film has been released. If you think a simple image being released on the Internet isn’t enough, well then you should be happy to know that the Directors Guild of America is giving the Academy Award-winning director a Lifetime Achievement Award for his work in film.
