| Watch: New Trailer For ‘The Favourite’ Starring Emma Stone, Rachel Weisz, Olivia Colman
Fox Searchlight has released a new trailer for The Favourite, an upcoming historical drama about Queen Anne in the early 18th century which stars Emma Stone (La La Land, Birdman), Rachel Weisz (The Constant Gardener, The Fountain), and Olivia Colman (Hot Fuzz, The Crown). If this is the first you’ve heard of the movie, the trailer might initially make it look like your typical awards season release—or “Oscar Bait,” as they are often labeled. Not that there’s anything wrong with that. Those types of films are often excellent. But as the trailer progresses it quickly becomes more than just a historical drama. It becomes funny. It becomes dark. All led by what appear to be three fittingly awards-caliber performances by Stone, Weisz, and Colman. Continue below for more info on The Favourite and to check out the new trailer along with a new poster.
