Fantasy Island Movie

Fantasy Island had a premise where a few of your favorite things can become a reality. Whatever vices you had could finally be indulged at a secluded paradise hideaway. Of course, having those fantasies does come at a price. It made for a very popular TV show that ran for seven seasons in the late 1970s and early 1980s.

Now, Blumhouse has taken that show and given it a cinematic revival, along with a few of its signature touches and added twists. An official trailer for this new Fantasy Island has been released by Sony Pictures, and you can check it out below.

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse

Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is regarded as one of the best Spider-Man films out there. Rather than recycle the same old story, the film had a refreshing take on the character by having an animated approach and focusing on Miles Morales, an Afro-Latino teenager who takes the mantle of Spider-Man and proves to audiences that “anyone can wear the mask.”

It was a literal comic book come to life. And following its commercial and critical success Sony would go on to greenlight a sequel. And now the tentatively titled Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has been given a release date.

The Princess Bride

Legendary television writer Norman Lear recently renewed the overall deal he has with Sony. The deal is set to take Lear into his 100th year on this planet of ours.

Variety published a feature about the 97-year-old Lear, but it was just a small part of that feature that set the ol’ internet on fire today. In it there is a quote from Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra, who says that some “very famous people” have approached Sony with hopes of remaking the 1987 fairy tale classic The Princess Bride, which was executive produced by Lear. Spider-Man: Far From Home

There’s no doubt that Spider-Man fans were holding on to the hope that Sony and Disney could find some sort of common ground after they broke up. Sony seemed to place the blame on Disney for being too greedy, while star Tom Holland remained optimistic about the situation.

However, at a recent entertainment summit, Sony Pictures CEO Tony Vinciquerra said “for the moment the door is closed.” More on the report below.

Spider-Man: Far From Home

It was exciting to see how Spider-Man’s (Tom Holland) role in the Marvel Cinematic Universe could have expanded given the events of Avengers: Endgame, and the ending for Spider-Man: Far From Home told us that it would have been a significant one. However, given recent events, it seems like the Webhead’s stay is coming to an end. Even those at the top recognize how their relationship wasn’t meant to last. Still, that doesn’t mean we can’t look back and enjoy the temporary arrangement.

And now, we can remember how Spidey’s presence in the MCU was everything that Spider-Man fans hoped it would be as Spider-Man: Far From Home makes its way to home video. More info on when the film will arrive on Digital, 4K, Blu-ray, and DVD, as well as which bonus features will be included, can be found below.

Searching Header Image

The 2018 Sundance darling and summer indie hit Searching will be getting a sequel. The original film, starring John Cho and Debra Messing, centered on a father who was desperate to find her missing daughter. As the police investigation leads nowhere, the father turns to the only place that may lead to his daughter’s whereabouts, her laptop.

This is great news for a film that deserved a lot more attention than it got. And the best thing about it is that writer/director Aneesh Chaganty, co-writer/producer Sev Ohanian, and producer Natalie Qasabian will all be back in their creative capacities to bring a sequel to audiences. More on the report below.
