Sony Pictures Entertainment has released an international trailer for A Beautiful Day in the Neighborhood, the upcoming movie about Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood‘s Fred Rogers which stars two-time Academy Award winner Tom Hanks as the beloved children’s show host. An official trailer was released back in July.

The movie is based on the true story of a friendship that developed between Fred Rogers and a journalist (played by Matthew Rhys) who was tasked with doing a report on Rogers.

Most would instantly recognize the camera revealing a miniaturized functional neighborhood with that soft and melodic piano beats to Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, the long-running educational children’s television series hosted by Fred Rogers. For many people of all ages, especially young preschoolers, Rogers’ on-screen persona was the endearing face of many broad topics from the things that happen in everyday life to the more tragic situations. But no matter what it was, he dealt with all of that with empathy and respect. Even after his death, Rogers’ legacy of kindness and love continues to resonate.

Now, his life will be depicted in a fictionalized account of an interview between a cold and cynical journalist named Lloyd Vogel (Matthew Rhys) and Mr. Fred Rogers (Tom Hanks). And Sony has released the first trailer for A Beautiful Day In The Neighborhood. Check out the trailer here below.

It’s being reported that Tom Hanks is attached to play Fred Rogers in a biopic about the iconic host of Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood titled You Are My Friend.

The movie is set to be directed by Marielle Heller (The Diary of a Teenage Girl) from a screenplay penned by Micah Fitzerman-Blue and Noah Harpster (Transparent/em>).

J.J. Abrams helped reestablish the Star Wars Franchise with The Force Awakens, and in doing so he also introduced the galaxy to Daisy Ridley. It was only a matter of time before there was going to be a reunion between the two for another film, and it seems as though it didn’t take that long for it to happen.

Reports are coming in that the two are going to reteam for a film called Kolma. However, Abrams will not be directing, but rather he will be producing. Marielle Heller, who made her directorial debut with Diary Of A Teenage Girl, will be the one to helm the film. Check out the full story below.
