Sony Announces Release Date For ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse 2’

Sony Pictures Animation’s Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is regarded as one of the best Spider-Man films out there. Rather than recycle the same old story, the film had a refreshing take on the character by having an animated approach and focusing on Miles Morales, an Afro-Latino teenager who takes the mantle of Spider-Man and proves to audiences that “anyone can wear the mask.”
It was a literal comic book come to life. And following its commercial and critical success Sony would go on to greenlight a sequel. And now the tentatively titled Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse 2 has been given a release date.

Phil Lord and Chris Miller Say Their ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ TV Spin-Offs Will Be “Really Special”

Phil Lord and Chris Miller are very adept at being able to give us entertaining material in all mediums from live-action to animation and even television. They are even more well-known for taking risks on projects that many deem to be failures. However, time and again, they have proven the skeptics wrong. As such, they have shown that they can give us hits by directing films like The LEGO Movie and Jump Street films. And of course, the two were also producers on Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse, which won them their first Oscar for Best Animated Feature.
That leads us to our next report. While at the Television Critics Association 2019, they spoke about some upcoming TV series based on Marvel characters which Sony currently controls. More on the report below.

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse changes everything we know about the title character and the animation medium. Looking back, it is no wonder it won the Oscar for Best Animated Feature. Visually, it’s unlike anything anyone has ever seen. Every single frame looks like a comic book panel come to life. Then there’s the story, which is equally impressive as we not only get to see a new side of the Spider-Man lore but also a timely origins story that comes to life as it echoes the importance of representation.
Now is the time to bring the animated sensation home because the film arrives on 4K, Blu-ray, Digital, and DVD today. Loaded with a ton of bonus features that include deleted scenes, in-depth making of features, a tribute to Stan Lee, and so much more, Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is an absolute must-have for anyone who is a fan of the character, Miles Morales, or just the animation medium itself. You Can Now Read The ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ Script In Its Entirety

Spider-Man: Into the Spider-Verse is ending up on many critics’ top ten lists for their favorites of the year – including my own. The film dazzles the screen with moving comic panels and comes alive with pop-up action blurbs. It’s unlike any other film you’ve seen before. It only gets better with a new web spin on the classic webhead. We don’t have to hear another retelling of Peter Parker’s story. Instead, Miles Morales swings in as the lead, breathing new life into the Spider-Man lore.
And now, you can read the script, written by co-producer Phil Lord and co-director Rodney Rothman, for yourself. It’s full of self-deprecating humor, hilarious gags, heartfelt moments, and heart-stopping action. Check it out below.

Joy To The World, ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse’ Christmas Album Released

Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse included a joke about how the title character’s enormous popularity expanded to cereals, a decent Popsicle, and of course, a Christmas album. Those who stuck around for the end credits got to hear a sample of one Webslinger (Chris Pine) from one universe sing “Spidey-Bells,” which is a play on the popular Christmas song “Jingle Bells.” But that song wasn’t included in the soundtrack or released digitally, as it would have conflicted with the themes of the actual score. But for those who were hoping to be able to get the Christmas songs, Sony Pictures Animation has heard your prayers. A Christmas EP has been released digitally and is available now.
Listen to a few of the tracks that will appear on A Very Spidey Christmas Album here below.
