This is interesting stuff. What little research I did over a half hour I came up with a few things… I think it’s an ARG of some kind, and I remember Cloverfield’s marketing campaign starting very much the same way. Some things of note… most of these videos have only the cameraman and one or two other people in the shot. ONLY those people are “reacting” to what is being heard. If someone is in the distance, they act as if they hear nothing. Also, some of the background soundtracks are identical to each other (bird noises). There is one near the beginning and one around the 13 min time that have the EXACT same sqaucking. Also, when you watch some of the other videos, some of which feature TV news footage… none of those scenes feature “call letters” for the station. That’s pretty much unheard of. Not to mention the only people who claim they have actually heard the sounds are people posting in comments on random conspiracy/end times websites. Yeah… So my vote is ARG. When is Pacific Rim due out?
